ABOUT ME
I'm Shima Hosseininasab, a Ph.D. candidate in public history at NC State University. My background is in architecture and my focus is on monuments, architecture, and community engagement in shaping historical meaning through preservation and re-use. During my years as an undergraduate and graduate student in architecture, I was always concerned with the concept of cultural durability in my designs. My primary purpose was to make history accessible to its users through architecture. Now, as a public historian, I try to facilitate informed public use of historical information and resources by focusing on urban memory spaces, digital public history and archival work.
